Theresa (“Terry”) Steinbach, CEO of Digital Divas L3C, will join Co-Host Charles Mudd on May 21, 2012 at 3:00pm Central to discuss the inspiration for and goals of Digital Divas.
Theresa Steinbach holds a PhD in Computer Science from DePaul University. She also holds a MS in Information Systems, MBA in Quantitative Economics and a BA in Mathematics. Prior to her career in academia, Terry owned her own consulting firm that specialized in maximizing technology for business growth and profits. She offered turnkey solutions to small and mid-size businesses.
Terry’s newest venture addresses the well-documented shortage of women in technology from high school through professional careers. The National Science Foundation has funded numerous programs addressing this shortage in high school and post-secondary education yet the numbers of women in technology remains level. Based on her work in these programs, Terry created the Digital Divas L3C to provide interesting and creative activities for elementary grade girls, the pipeline to increasing participation, to spark their interest in becoming creators and not just consumers of technology.
